About Dubai

Dubai a metropolis city and being the world’s most developed city located on the Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirates. Famous for its old cultural heritage, modern sky scrappers and home to the world’s tallest tower Burj Khalifa standing at the height of 828 meter. Dubai is part of the total of seven Emirates which is formed as “United Arab Emirates”. The other six Emirates are Abu Dhabi, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah and Ajman.

History dates back shows that Dubai city got developed from a fishing village located on its famous area called “Dubai Creek”. The initial livelihood for the tribes or people staying in this area was based on fishing and pearl trading.

In 1833 The Al Maktoum tribe establishes the fishing settlement of Dubai, continuing to rule Dubai ever since. By 1892 the fishing business along with the pearl trading got flourish among many traders who were visting Dubai from different countries. The journey continues to develop the fishing village a better trading centre for many years till 1966 when the oil got discovered in Dubai. which attracts foreign trade and start stimulating the economy. With the formation of seven Emirates in 1971 the “United Arab Emirates” born. With the recent decades Dubai got its place in the Tourism market due to its marvelous architecture, entertainment spots, cultural preservation and the iconic trading hub between Europe and Asian countries.

Today Dubai is one of the most fastest developed city in the world and home of the world’s tallest buildings, luxury hotels, families entertainment destination and incredible beach sports facilities. The current ruler of Dubai name “Sheikh Muhammad Rashid Al Maktoum” and He is also the vice president of United Arab Emirates.

Dubai have indoor and outdoor both entertainment spots making it feasible to visit in every month. The winter months are from November till April where the temperature stays between 20 – 30 Degree Celsius whereas during Summer period which is from May till October month is getting between 35 – 47 degree Celsius.

The official religion of Untied Arab Emirates is Islam professed by 74.5% of the population as of 2020. It provides for freedom of worship as long as it does not conflict with public policy or morals. It states all persons are equal before the law and prohibits discrimination on grounds of religious belief.

There are mainly 2 airports in Dubai. One is called Dubai International Airport has 3 terminals and the second one is called “Al Maktoum International Airport” which is in process of expansion to become the world’s biggest airport as well. Emirates Airlines is one of the two flag carriers of the United Arab Emirates. and known for its luxurious amenities, regionally inspired gourmet cuisine, award-winning in-flight entertainment system.

Transportation in Dubai: Dubai have one of the most efficient and reliable public transportation system which is being carried by busses, taxis, Dubai Metro, Dubai Tram and Monorail system. To use the public transportation system you can buy travel card which is working on all transportation modes card “NOL”. And this can be recharged at most of the bus stations, metro stations and Tram Stations.

Currency in United Arab Emirates is called “Dirham”. The coins in circulation are in the denominations of fils 25, 50 and dirham 1. Bank notes in circulation are in the denominations of dirhams 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000. When coming to exchange with US Dollar. 1 USD = 3.65 AED. More then 95% of the tourist places, attractions and public points you can pay using your credit/debit card (national or international all accepted).

Photography in the public areas: it is not allowed to take any picture of any local resident or citizen without their permission. It is strictly prohibited to take other pictures without their consent.
